International Conference on Practical Aspects of Knowledge Management
|
|
Motivation
Enterprise
models and ontology serve as valuable knowledge assets in the management of
corporations. Due to the steadily growing need of integration of heterogeneous
enterprise systems, interoperability gets a key issue in technical and semantic
integration approaches. The workshop focuses on knowledge-oriented technologies,
platforms and approaches to enable interoperability in the domains of enterprise
management and enterprise systems. It solicits input from researchers,
practitioners and technology providers with experiences related to technical and
semantic interoperability.
|
|
Topics
of Interest
(in the context of
interoperability) include, but are not limited to
-
Model-driven
approaches for interoperability
-
Modelling
of non-functional aspects
-
Application
of ontology in enterprise systems
-
Semantics
in enterprise modelling
-
Ontology-based
platforms
-
Architectures
using models and/or ontology
-
Runtime
aspects of model execution
-
Managing
semantics in inter-organizational processes
-
Integration
of EAI, enterprise modelling and ontology
-
Measuring
quality and quantity in interoperability problems
-
Experience
reports on real life projects
-
Future
perspectives in industry

Submissions
and Participation
To
enable lively and productive discussions, attendance will be limited to about 25
participants. To participate in the workshop, acceptance of a submitted position
statement is required and at most of two authors per accepted submission can
participate.
Position
statements should clearly state how they relate to the workshop, what particular
problem and corresponding solution they address, and why the statement is
expected to be relevant to both the workshop and the community.
Statements
should be 4 to 8 pages long and state the author’s name, affiliation, and
contact information.
Please
use the Authors
Instructions subpage on the Springer Homepage for downloading the necessary
templates.
The
acceptance of a submission implies that at least one of the authors will
register for the workshop and actively participates in the discussion groups.
The position statements will be published in a workshop reader.
The
workshop is a one day event, structured in sessions based on the position
statements and the general issue structure in this area. Accepted papers will be
available before workshop and are to be read prior by all participants.

|
|
Motivation
Mobility
has become a central aspect of life for people in business, education and
leisure. Related mobile 3G network infrastructures and user communities have
surpassed corresponding Internet figures. Independent of this development, Grid
technology is evolving form a niche market solely addressing the HPC domain
towards a framework useable within a broad business context. However, while
affecting largely identical complex applications, user and provider domains, the
Grid community has been basically mobility-unaware.
